Cradle of Aviation Museum

For Immediate Release
Roslyn residents Valentine and Irina Sushko and the United World Foundation are the first donors for the Cradle of Aviation Museum’s new Adopt-a-School Program. They posed on April 18th in front of the museum’s Giant Screen Theater with the children from the East Elementary School which is part of the Long Beach School District. The other schools to visit as part of this program were Lido, Lindell, and West Elementary Schools for a total of 200 students participating. Pictured are the Sushko’s, David Weiss, superintendent for Long Beach School District, Kenneth Graham, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for Long Beach, the museum’s executive director, Andrew Parton and Jennifer Baxmeyer, education director for the museum.
This new Cradle program provides funds for one of the local schools to visit the museum with approximately 200 students, have them attend a museum class and provide them with busing to and from the museum. Commenting on the sponsorship, Irina said "we believe the STEM program is the perfect foundation for the future to ensure that our young generation will continue the legacy of Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Wright Brothers and William Boeing. We chose Long Beach School District to extend our support to the hardest hit area of Long Island"
